Making photos of your crystals can be a very dificult, but rewarding task. You can print the photos and hang them on your wall, you can use them for the database of your collection or for selling online. Photographing crystals and minerals is basically the same as minerals are in general build up out of crystals.
You only need a camera and a crystal, to start making photos. But these photos will not yield very good results because one important thing is missing, proper lighting!
Make some to have proper lighting on your specimen and a background can also prevent the formation of shadows, by reflecting the light back to the specimen. Choose a bright background for dark specimen, but if you want to photograph white or very clear specimen it might be a good idea to use a dark background.
